Mr. and Mrs. McEntyre
David and Kathy McEntyre are the Band Directors for West Texas High School and West Texas Middle School.
Mrs. McEntyre grew up in Pampa (but Ms. Knight doesn't hold that against her). Mr. McEntyre grew up in Devine, Texas. Both graduated from West Texas State University (which later changed its name to West Texas A & M University). Mrs. Mac earned a Bachelors of Music Education, as well as a Masters of Education. Mr. Mac earned a Bachelors of Music Education.
Mrs. Mac began her teaching career in Pampa, while Mr. Mac began his in Big Lake. Since marrying, both have taught for the same school systems. They have taught in Stratford, Booker, Tulia, and Shamrock before coming to the PSP system.
The Macs both play the trumpet, among other instruments. Both are frequently seen picking up just about any instrument in the Band Hall and playing it very well. They have 2 sons, and several dogs and cats.
