Mrs. Burton

Mrs. Burton was born and raised in Vernon, Texas.  She and her family moved to Amarillo before her senior year of high school.  Mrs. Burton graduated from Amarillo High School, then attended West Texas A&M University, Amarillo College, and Frank Phillips College before graduating from Oklahoma Panhandle State University.

Mrs. Burton married Jim Bob Burton in June of 1991.  She reports that moving from Amarillo to Stinnett was quite a culture shock.  She had been used to living in a town with a population of over 150,000.  Moving to Stinnett was an interesting experience for her and her family.

The Burtons have two sons, Zane, who is 9 years old, and Rhett, who is 6 years old.  She taught at St. John's Catholic School for 1 year, then with the Dumas Independent School District for 5 years, and Borger ISD for 4 years.  This is Mrs. Burton's second year with the PSP district.  She now teaches 6th and 8th grade English classes at WTMS.  She says that she is happy to finally be at home!
