Our Principal...

Kevin Freriks
Mr. Freriks says he was born at a very early age. He wanted to be close to his mother when it happened, so he was at the same hospital as she was. The first couple of years of his life, he just relaxed around the house and people waited on him, hand and foot. It has been reported that at the age of ten, he ran away with the circus, but his mother made him give it back. Also reported is that at the age of 15, his parents took him into the woods and lost him, but he found his way back to them. They were certainly surprised at that!
But, seriously, folks...Mr. Freriks was born in Japan. His father was serving in the Air Force at the time, and the family was stationed in Japan. The young Freriks family moved to Stinnett when the future principal of WTMS was only 7 months old.
Mr. Freriks graduated from Stinnett High School in 1981 and headed off to Angelo State University in San Angelo, TX. He graduated from there with a Bachelors of Science degree in Physical Education with a minor in Math. Mr. Freriks received his Masters degree in Educational Administration from West Texas A&M University in 2003.
This is Mr. Freriks' 22nd year in education, and his fifth year as the WTMS principal. He reports that he loves his job. He has said on many occasions that we have great teachers and support staff personnel at WTMS, as well as great kids, all of which make his job in education very enjoyable.
