Red Ribbon Week 2009

Interview by Cassi and Connor

Red Ribbon Week for this school year, October 26th through 30th, is shaping up to be a great one!

There will be three contests for WTMS students to participate in during this week.  The 6th graders will be having a t-shirt design contest, the 7th graders will have a poster contest, and the 8th graders will compete by decorating the teachers' classroom doors.  Independent judges will determine the winners of each contest, which will be announced at the end of the week.

Mrs. Chisum, WTMS counselor, will be handing out various items this week, to create school spirit for this important event.  On Monday, ribbons will be given out.  Pencils will be handed out on Tuesday, with suckers being distributed on Wednesday.  Ribbons to tie around trees, as well as stickers to wear to promote drug awareness will be handed out on Thursday.  There will be a surprise on Friday, when the contest winners are announced.

The hallways of WTMS are decorated with Red Ribbon Week banners.  Soon, the halls will also have t-shirt decorations and posters adorning the walls.

We will post pictures of the festivities, as they occur.  Check back soon to see them!
